Moderation Policy
Last updated: August 21, 2026
Devlio maintains a review process to ensure all projects on the platform are safe, functional, and honestly represented. This policy explains how moderation works and what is expected of users.
1. Content Review
Every project and version update is reviewed by our moderation team before it becomes public. During review, we check for:
- Malware, viruses, backdoors, or any code designed to harm users
- Accurate and honest project descriptions
- Originality and proper attribution
- Basic functionality and code quality
- Compliance with our Creator Guidelines
2. Prohibited Content
The following will result in immediate rejection or removal:
- Malicious software: Viruses, trojans, ransomware, spyware, keyloggers, or any code designed to steal data or cause harm
- Illegal material: Cracked software, stolen intellectual property, or content that facilitates illegal activities
- Hate speech: Content that targets individuals or groups based on race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or disability
- Explicit content: Adult material, graphic violence, or content not suitable for a general audience
- Deceptive projects: Misleading descriptions, clickbait titles, or projects that don't match what they claim to do
- Spam: Duplicate uploads, low-effort submissions, or projects that primarily promote external services without standalone value
3. Community Reporting
Any user can report a project that violates our policies. To report a project, use the "Report" button on the project page and select a reason. Every report is reviewed by a moderator. Reports are confidential — the reported user is not told who filed the report.
4. Enforcement Actions
Depending on severity and history, we may take the following actions:
- Rejection: A submitted project does not meet our standards and is not published. The creator may fix the issues and resubmit.
- Removal: A published project is taken down due to a policy violation. The creator is notified with the reason.
- Warning: A formal notice for minor first-time violations.
- Temporary suspension: Account features are restricted for a set period. Used for repeated or serious violations.
- Permanent ban: Account is terminated. Used for severe violations such as malware distribution, or repeated disregard for our policies.
5. Appeals
If you believe a moderation decision was made in error, you can appeal by contacting us through the contact page. Include your username, the project in question, and a detailed explanation of why you believe the decision should be reconsidered. We review all appeals within 7 days.
6. DMCA and Copyright
For copyright infringement claims, see our DMCA & Takedown Policy.
